Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday: A Day of Service

Dr. King's legacy asks us to look beyond ourselves to make our world a better place for humanity. Because of this, we celebrate his birthday as a national day of service. Check out the Hands On Greater Richmond page at https://www.handsonrva.org/mlkdayofservice-volunteer to see opportunities for service available Monday, January 17.

There are several opportunities to serve that day all in Richmond. What if we are snowed in that day? Then maybe your neighborhood needs some service: someone may need help clearing the sidewalk or driveway, or clearing away tree limbs that may have fallen in the storm. Take a look around; ask if there is anything you can do.

Remember that for an opportunity to be CAS, you need to document it. Don't forget to snap some pictures or something similar.
